The University of Southampton’s international strategy describes the University as a ‘Gateway to the World’, committed to transforming lives and enhancing prosperity across the globe. To achieve this, the University intends to establish three additional international campuses by 2030.
In the 21st century, no university can claim to be global without engaging with India. Therefore we are delighted to be the first University Grant Commission-approved international university to operate fully in India from August 2025. The Delhi campus will join the Malaysia campus (which opened in 2012) in delivering a premium student experience. Regardless of location, programmes will be taught and assessed to the same standard as the equivalent degree offered in the UK; our students will graduate with a University of Southampton degree, the same award as in the UK; and the quality and qualifications of our faculty will be equivalent to those in the UK.
