University of Westminster

Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT) was established in 2002 by the University of Westminster in collaboration with the Foundation of the then President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. WIUT was the first international university located in the heart of Central Asia to offer a Western-style education with UK qualifications. 

WIUT now has over 6000 students studying at foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate level. The subjects offered at undergraduate and postgraduate level include business, economics, finance, computing and law in addition to a number of specialised masters’ programmes. There are now over 8000 alumni who have graduated from WIUT with a University of Westminster degree. 

In addition to the programmes offered WIUT and Westminster collaborate in areas including research, colleague and student mobility, conferences and short courses. WIUT and Westminster also support wider societal developments in Uzbekistan by working with the Government in areas such as supporting the development of a more inclusive curricula for local HEIs.
